BP: Azerbaijan has great potential in the field of renewable energy sources
He said that there is a great potential for the development of wind energy in Azerbaijan, the wind speed on the Absheron peninsula reaches 8-9 meters per second.
As for solar energy, the representative said that there is promising potential in this field as well. In the country, 4 kilowatt hours of sunlight falls on one square meter in one day.
He said that BP is developing digital platforms in this field and some of them can be used in Azerbaijan.
K. Gilbert added that within the framework of the Paris Agreement, Azerbaijan intends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent by 2030, and BP is ready to support energy transformation in the country.
