A "green energy" zone will be created in the liberated territories

In the information released by the Ministry of Energy, it is stated that for this purpose, a detailed Concept on the creation of a "green energy" zone has been prepared with the involvement of the Japanese company TEPSCO, and the Master Plan is being drawn up. Within the framework of the project, various scenarios of energy demand and supply were considered for development of territories and settlement options. At the same time, continuous research is being conducted in these regions to study the potential of hydro, solar, wind, biomass, geothermal and other renewable energy, to build wind and solar power plants using existing resources, and also to build hydropower plants in reservoirs and small rivers. These regions have the potential of 7,200 megawatts of solar energy and 2,000 megawatts of wind energy. Approximately 25 percent of our country's internal water resources, i.e. 2 billion 560 million cubic meters per year, are formed in these areas. Solar energy potential is observed in Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Zangilan and Gubadli, and wind energy potential is observed in mountainous areas of Lachin and Kalbajar. The main rivers of the region such as Tartarchay, Bazarchay, Hekarichay and other small rivers have great hydropower potential. Also, according to the preliminary analysis, it is assumed that there are 3093 cubic meters of thermal water per day in Kalbajar, and 412 cubic meters per day in Shusha.

It should be noted that a number of large projects in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur are planned to be implemented at the expense of foreign investment. The agreement reached with BP on the implementation of the 240 megawatt solar power plant project in Zangilan and Jabrayil regions should be an important message for other foreign companies. Currently, the technical and economic aspects of the construction of this station and the issues arising from its integration into the national network are being discussed. For this project, which predicts the annual production of approximately 500 million kilowatt hours of electricity, relevant works are also being carried out in the direction of determining the land area, topographic studies, studying the possibilities of connecting to the network, hydrometeorological analyzes and environmental impact assessment.

In addition, another project that will contribute to the creation of the "green energy" zone will be the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of up to 100 MW in the territory of Lachin or Kalbajar.

Both in Karabakh and in Eastern Zangezur, all electric utilities, new lines, transformers, substations, and power plants are being built. 12 hydropower plants destroyed by Armenians in Kalbajar and Lachin regions are being restored. 7 of them have already been commissioned. It should be noted that energy is the main key to the future development of the region, that's why the construction of the energy industry is in the first place. Despite the fact that almost two years have passed since the war, large-scale works in Karabakh and East Zangezur - clearing mines, creating vital infrastructure - show the strength, intention and will of the Azerbaijani state. Without asking for help from international organizations and foreign countries, Azerbaijan carries out all these construction works and implementation of huge projects on its own. The great energy potential of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur will allow Azerbaijan to further strengthen its position as the world's most reliable energy producer.

The lands freed from occupation are revived, traces of Armenian brutality are removed, new cities and villages are built, and every work is carried out with jeweler's precision, high quality and modern technologies. The words of the head of state, which he said with determination and strong conviction, "We have returned to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur forever" indicate future success.
